“I grew up attending services in the Universal Church, but my life was not committed to God. My father left us when I was in primary school and that made me angry. Things got out of hand when I got to high school. I made friends with the wrong crowd and they encouraged me to start dating.
I became rebellious at home and often arrived late. My grades at school dropped drastically because I no longer had time to study. I then found out that one of my friends was pregnant and realised that if I did not stop what I was doing, I was going in the same direction. I decided to cut ties with my bad friends. I attended a church meeting where I was taught about the importance of receiving the Holy Spirit.
The 21-day Fast of Daniel was introduced in the church and I took part in it. I committed my life to God and I got baptised in water because I wanted to start a new life in the presence of God. I attended the Wednesday and Sunday services for my spiritual development. In the second week of the fast, I was baptised with the Holy Spirit. I felt inexplicable joy and peace.
I am no longer angry with my father. I forgave him. I am obedient at home. I am excelling in my studies. I live a fulfilled life because I have the presence of God inside me,” said Sanele.
