“I had family problems. I felt abandoned by my father. We lived in the same area but we did not have any contact. I wanted to have a relationship with him, but my mother warned me to stay away from him.
One day, I confronted my father and asked him why he had abandoned me. He asked me to bring my mother with me. We had a family meeting but we had to end it because my parents started fighting.
I did not cope at school. I was angry and felt empty. I contemplated suicide. I remember being in a train station and I tried to throw myself in front of the train but I was stopped by the other commuters.
Although I was already attending services in the Universal Church, I was not obedient to the teachings I received. My life was falling apart and that is when I decided to attend the chains of prayers on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. I wanted to commit my life to God
I was baptised in water because I wanted a clean start with God. I also participated in the 21-day Fast of Daniel because I saw an opportunity to have the presence of God. I read my Bible and prayed every day. I sought the Holy Spirit and told Him that I was empty without Him. I told Him that I could no longer carry on without His Spirit. After being baptised with the Holy Spirit, I became a very happy person.
My family has been restored. I am no longer angry. I am no longer suicidal because I have a reason to live. I do not feel empty because the Holy Spirit completes me,” said Nkosana.
