A series of disapppointments

My mother used to sell vegetables and I helped her. We went from house to  house, selling to people. The situation at home was not easy because my father drank alcohol excessively. After work, he passed by the shebeen and often arrived home late.

In high school, it was difficult  to study because after school, I had to help my mother out, even on weekends. I fell pregnant in matric, but I was able to complete my studies. After matriculating, my parents did not have money to pay for my tertiary fees, so I had to look for a job. I found a job in a factory and soon after, I met someone. We dated, got married and had a son.

I opened a shop in town where I sold clothes. Shortly after that, my shop was broken into and my business struggled to recover. I had to be a  housewife. My husband started being unfaithful. He arrived home late all the  time. I decided to separate  from him and I went back home because I could not take the humiliation. After returning home, I found a job, but I became very sick. I looked for help in  many places but no one could help me.

A member of the Universal Church invited me to attend services with her. I made chains of prayers on Tuesdays for my healing and on Fridays for my deliverance. I started using my faith and believing in God. I believed that He could do the impossible.

My life started changing when I surrendered my all to God. I put His word into practice. I read and meditated on the Bible because I wanted to be closer to Him. I also decided to forgive my ex-husband.
