“I started attending services at the Universal Church with my mother when I was young. After completing my matric, I could not continue my studies at a tertiary institution because we did not have enough money. I applied for jobs, but nothing worked out. Everything in my life felt stuck.
I participated in the chains of prayers, but nothing seemed to change. I watched my peers progress —some were working, while others were studying. I became depressed and even suicidal. I wanted to stop attending services altogether. My lack of commitment to God made it easier for me to fall into depression and negativity. I was afraid to seek help because I feared being judged. Then one Wednesday, the pastor preached about the dangers of being worried. I realised that I was in that situation because I was consumed by worry and anxiety about many things. Instead of committing myself to God and focusing on Him, I was fixated on obtaining the things I did not have.
I decided to participate in a campaign where my only goal was to receive the Holy Spirit. Once I shifted my focus from my problems to God, everything started changing. I was even given a job that I had not applied for. Through attending the chains of prayers, I was freed from depression and suicidal thoughts, and my life changed completely. I was promoted at work and later got married to a man of God. The Holy Spirit was the greatest gift I ever received. When I received the Holy Spirit, I found peace and stopped worrying about things.
Today, I trust God with everything in my life. Since receiving the Holy Spirit, I always have peace. My family is blessed, and I serve God with a peaceful heart,” said Tlaleng.
