I dropped out of school at the age of 16
Losing the two people who loved and cared for her within five years was the worst thing ever to happen to Hopolang.
"My mother passed away when I was nine years old. Five years later, my aunt who cared for me also passed on. I was left with my grandmother who earned a living from part-time domestic jobs," said Hopolang.
At 16 years of age, Hopolang dropped out of school and found a job as a domestic worker.
"I worked for two years before a relative offered to help us financially and took me back to school. I was then able to complete my matric in 2014," she said.
The following year she moved to Johannesburg where she was introduced to the Universal Church by her boyfriend.
"I took part in the chains of prayer on Mondays for my finances to improve. I started selling cosmetics and I was able to provide for myself and my grandmother. In 2017, I got married to Thapelo in the church after we dated for two years. I am happily married and have a good home and family structure. The presence of God gave me the comfort I needed" said Hopolang.
