"Save me, O God!
For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary with my crying; My throat is dry; My eyes fail while I wait for my God. Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head…" Psalm 69:1- 4 NKJV
David's problems began when he killed Goliath. Although still young, nothing seemed to stop the young shepherd boy who later went on to become one of the most powerful soldiers in Saul’s army, awakening jealousy in those around him.
From one victory to the next, David was loved and hated by many in his time.
Reading the book of Psalms you will come across chapters and verses in which David asks for protection from those who are looking for an opportunity to kill him ... to the point where he says, “I am weary with my crying; my throat is dry; my eyes fail while I wait for my God."
You may be facing the very same situation right now. Everything looks as if you are going to fail and be trapped by those who hate you. It is even worse when those who want to see you fail are from your own family – your father, brother or even your own mother. At this moment you feel as though you need to scream for help. It’s as if you fear you are not going to make it.
Do not be afraid. At this very moment, while you read this article, the same God who saved King David from all his troubles, is with you to show you the way out.
You might be lonely and have no friends at all, but God is by your side and will certainly bless and protect you. It is not difficult to find people who will hate you without reason -- especially your so-called ‘friends’ when they see you doing well. They will not appreciate it and start to persecute you. Nevertheless, it is Jesus Christ who said: "I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20NKJV
You are not alone. Be strong! Take courage. Your victory is near.
God bless you.
